The Danville Area Humane Society is alerting pet owners to take precautions for keeping pets safe with the forecasted hot temperatures. Executive Director Paulette Dean tells the Register & Bee they’ve received reports of 2 dogs that died from possible heat stroke. Dog owners should walk their canines when it’s cooler outside so their paws don’t get burned. Also make sure your outdoor pets have plenty of cool drinkable water.
